The first night was beautiful.

"This is your room," Vexen had said, opening the door into a pastel painted, square room with French windows and a balcony overlooking the garden and the rest of the city. On the left was the bed, on the right a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and a frankly gigantic bean bag chair. The carpet was soft underneath his feet and he pulled the older man in to collapse onto the blissfully soft mattress, laughing as deeply as the kisses he generously gave to Vexen.

The second part of ~SushiBee's birthday present. This is the I-tried-to-do-something-fancy-but-it-didn't-work part.

So Larxene and Vexen, from the Deep Dwellers story, where Larxene and Vexen are human anglerfishes and Vexen is obsessed with the way that Larxene smells and follows her around like a grubby, skinny vicious-toothed parasitic puppy.
Oh, you can't hate the night if you've lived your whole life without light, and you can't hate the dish if you've only ever eaten fish; and you can't feel alone if it's all you've ever known - yeah, the deep sea anglerfish has no reason to be happy but it has no frikking idea what else to be!
